Ranks in the Royal Aerial Corps
Lord High Admiral is the highest rank, reserved for the most important Admiral. He also serves as the representative of the Royal Aerial Corps in the Queen's Privy Council.
Captain is the title used for the man who is in control of the dragon. The Captains determine seniority amongst themselves by length of time in the service, but the dragons determine rank amongst themselves by size and strength. For that reason, courier-captains and other smaller-sized dragons will never be as revered as those of the heavy battle-weight dragons. Dragons with special abilities such as the Longwings, with their acid, however, can often be ranked with the larger dragons.
Lieutenant
Midwingman
Ensign
Runner is a title reserved for the youngest crewmembers, who are generally used simply to convey messages from one side of the covert to the other. They are generally under 13 years of age.
