Luang Prabang is a must. I liked Vientiane, probably mostly because I was able to buy some European groceries for the first time in 6 weeks, but the city has its moments. Kong Lor cave - over 7 kilometers long, which you traverse by boat - is also amazing. It’s near the city of Thakhek, which isn’t very interesting, but has a nice waterfront - worth a short visit. And finally, Si Phan Don, or 4000 Islands (in reality, 3 islands + 3997 mounds sticking out of the water) is a truly unspoiled paradise. If you visit Luang Phabang I suggest you to stay at Namkhan Eco Farm as it is best suited place for the people in seek of relaxing with nature and greenery. You will find everything there related to nature from bamboo sun beds to fresh food from farm served directly to your plate.
